Hug Grand Rapids!

I wanted to post about a great outreach we’ve been doing in our community for the last few years. It has been a hit each year, and annually we do more and more hugs.
For Valentine’s Day, our small(but big-minded) church buys bags of Hershey’s Hugs, thousands of ziplock snack bags, and confetti, and printed up business cards with our “Hug” graphic (you can download it, and several other high-quality, printable card graphics I designed by clicking here.)

The work of the Holy Spirit in communicating God’s truth to man is now seen to have two stages. The first and objective stage is “revelation,” the disclosure of the truth in Scripture. The second and subjective stage may be called “illumination,” the enlightenment of our minds to comprehend the truth disclosed in Scripture. Each process is indispensable. Without revelation we have no truth to perceive; without illumination no faculty with which to perceive it.
