The Bible describes four major types of fasting:

A Regular Fast – Traditionally, a regular fast means refraining from eating all food. Most people still drink water or juice during a regular fast. When Jesus fasted in the desert, the Bible says, “After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.” This verse does not mention Jesus being thirsty.
A Partial Fast – This type of fast generally refers to omitting a specific meal from your diet or refraining from certain types of foods. Daniel 10:2-3 says, “At …

The message was painted on the roof of a splintered and sunken house in Waveland, Miss.: “C. Moretz is alive. Pass it on.” The message included a Tucson, Ariz., phone number.
Chris Moretz, 36, said he had decided to ride out the hurricane. “I was optimistic, naive, curious, dumb,” he said.
He said he was in his house when water poured in. It went from ankle deep to hip deep in five minutes. When it got waist deep on the second floor he swam out a window.
He found a boat and took …

The God of high endeavor gave me a torch to bear.
I lifted it high above me in the dark and murky air.
And straightway with loud Hosannas the crowd proclaimed it’s light.
And followed “me” as I carried the torch through the dark gloom of the night.
‘Til drunk with the people’s praises and mad with vanity.
I forgot the torch they followed and fancied they followed me.
Straightway my arms grew weary upholding the shining load.
And my feet grew fixed with plodding over the rugged road.
And I fell- with the torch beneath me-
In a …

Late To The Party

When will we, as churches, get fed up with continually chasing after the latest societal fads, trends and fashions. There is merit in a good presentation and reputation, but it ought to stir us to action when the church… the earthly vehicle Christ instituted to reach a lost humanity… is in a popularity contest with the world!
We want to be green, but green isn’t cool anymore… we showed up late to the party, and wasted our time and evangelism opportunities trying to get there.
We want to be politically active, but …

Deuteronomy 32:4
Deuteronomy 32:31
For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
What do you do when life surpasses your capabilities? When you’re between The Rock and a hard place?
Aron Lee Ralston (born October 27, 1975) is an American mountain climber who became famous in May 2003 when he was forced to amputate his lower right arm with a dull knife in order to free himself after his arm became trapped by a boulder. Ralston documented his experience in a book titled Between a Rock and a …

Revival will come…
If all the sleeping folk will wake up,
If all the lukewarm folk will fire up,
If all the dishonest folk will confess up,
If all the disgruntled folk will cheer up,
If all the depressed folk will cheer up,
If all the estranged folk will make up,
If all the gossipers will shut up,
If all true soldiers will stand up,
If all the dry bones will shake up,
If all the church members will pray up…
Then we can have a revival!

Wikipedia defines “Winter Wheat” like this…
Winter wheat is a cereal. In the Northern Hemisphere, winter wheats are planted in the autumn, from September through December. Winter wheat sprouts before freezing occurs, then becomes dormant until the soil warms up in the spring. Persistent snow cover might be disadvantageous; however, winter wheat needs a few weeks of cold before being able to flower. The wheat grows and matures until ready to be harvested by early July.
This sounds all too familiar in several cases God has presented us with in our ministry. …

Jesus was walking along the road one day and saw a man crying.
When He asked what was wrong, the man replied, “I’m blind,” so Jesus healed him.
Further along He met another man in tears and asked him the same question. He replied, “I’m lame,” so Jesus healed him.
Then He encountered a third man weeping. In response to Jesus’ question he replied, “I’m a pastor.”
So Jesus sat down and wept right along with him!
