Quoted: Jay Jones on Emergent Theology

Emergent ideology is born of postmodernism and deconstructionism. It is the thought that to truly understand ‘truth’, one must first unlearn and untrain themselves from all that has been previously understood, and begin rebuilding truth piece-by-piece. It is this deconstructing, this dismantling of time-tested Truth, that has destroyed the faith of many, and reduced true conviction and beliefs to coffee-socials and band-worship. In the pursuit to gather the masses, they have collected bodies, but scattered faith. God spoke through Jeremiah and declared, “Woe be to the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” The emergent theology will be successful… the problem is their success will be in destroying the faith of the hungry.
