The Definite Article

An interesting note about the Definite Article in the Greek text (actually in the Hebrew as well). A most amazing concept comes with the use of the Definite Article before the words ‘fatted calf’ in Luke 15:23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

The indication/concept/message is that after some point when the son left the relationship, the father selected “The” celebration meal of His sons return. What faith… What Hope!

The Definite Article is most often symbolic with the index finger; a pointing out. In the Hebrew in Isaiah 9:6 the translators included the Definite Article when describing the Son born of the virgin…

“The” father of eternity, “The” prince of peace, “The” mighty God..

The guiding principle for use of the Definite Article is the ONLY ONE among many.

The fatted calf was ONE AMONG many that the servants knew was for a special purpose selected by the father…
