- Do not counsel someone of the opposite sex alone at your office (without the door ajar, a window in the door, or an assistant outside the door).
- Do not counsel a married person of the opposite sex more than once without the person’s mate being present (or involved in the process).
- Do not dine alone with someone of the opposite sex.
- Do not kiss someone of the opposite sex (in private) or show affection that could be questioned.
- Do not discuss detailed sexual problems — or discuss your marriage problems — with someone of the opposite sex while counseling.

- Be open with your staff if you become aware of a potential problem. Pray for one another on your ministry team.
- REFER(!!) the individual to a competent counselor.
