Quoted: Kenneth Haggestrom on Praise

I feel like praising Him.
But I praise Him no matter how I feel.

God is more concerned with our character than our comfort.
Character will cause you to praise in seeming dire circumstances.

Chains? I’ll sing in a midnight chorus.
Boils? I know my redeemer liveth.
Hurt? Is there no balm in Gilead?
Forsaken? Yet He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Tempted? But not forsaken.
Attacked by the enemy? He’s praying for you that your faith fail not.
Encompassed about? He’ll raise a standard.
Bombarded? No weapon formed against you will prosper?

Praise Him? Is there not a cause?
REJOICE that your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
PRAISE Him with the timbrel and dance, dance, dance, dance.
Oh Glory to His Name!
