Soul Searching Questions
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John record many questions asked by Jesus during His 3½ year ministry.
Let’s examine four of these pointed, powerful, probing and soul searching questions:
#1 …
“When the Son of man comes, shall He find faith in the earth?” (Luke 18:8)
1]Â Â Â There are fundamentally two kinds of faith:
AÂ Â Â Faith in, or belief in, God.
B]Â Â Â Faith for miracles.
2]    When the question is asked, “Will He find faith when He returns?â€Â It’s referring to our faith in God and the things of God.
3]Â Â Â The faith of the faithful is under fire today like never before in history.
A]Â Â Â Anti-God and anti-Godliness sentiments are declared openly and without reservation today in the political world, education system, media … And every other arena of life.
4]Â Â Â I believe He will find faith in the earth when He returns … He will find men and women who have believe that He IS … And that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
#2 …
“What will ye that I shall do unto you?” (Matt. 20:32)
1]   I have often told my wife and daughter “I would do anything for you that is within my power.â€Â There isn’t anything I would not do for them, if they needed it, if it was within my power.
A]Â Â Â Jesus has marvelous power and is able to do things for us that we cannot do for ourselves.
(1) Â Â Â He can: Heal the sick … Restore sight … Cause the lame to walk … Raise the dead … Set you free from sin … Fill you with the precious gift of the Holy Spirit.
B]Â Â Â Jesus is both willing and able to meet our needs, but we must ask!
(1) Â Â Â “Ask and you shall receive.”
(2)Â Â Â “You have not because you ask not.”
#3 …
“Lovest thou me more than these?â€Â (John 21:15)
1]Â Â Â Another question asked of Peter.
A]Â Â Â This is the 1st of 3 such questions in a row.
2]Â Â Â The Emphasis is that one must love Jesus the most.
A] Â Â Â I Cor. 16:22, “If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha”
(1) Â Â Â If we don’t love Jesus more that the world we will cut ourselves off from relationship with God.
3]Â Â Â So many voices vying for your attention and affection today:
A]Â Â Â Isa. 66 …
(1)   Voice of world … “Love not the world…â€
(2)Â Â Â Voice of religion …
(3)Â Â Â Voice of the Lord.
#4 …
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?†(Matt. 16:26)
1]Â Â Â These questions are in a category by themselves … apart from all other questions He asks … These are questions that demand an immediate answer.
2]Â Â Â Some questions you might be able to ignore … At least for a while.
A]   “Dad are you going to let me go to CLC next year?â€
3]Â Â Â You cannot afford to ignore a question that has to do with your soul and where it will spend eternity.
4]   “Preacher, can you give me your opinion as to what I need to do to be saved?â€
A]   You don’t need my opinion, or any other man’s opinion for that matter, you need to obey the Word of the Lord.
(1)Â Â Â Acts 2:37
