Critical Thinking

Colossians 1:15-20

According to Webster’s dictionary, “Critical Thinking” is the mental process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information to reach an answer or conclusion.

Over a hundred billion neurons in the human brain. 20% of all oxygen is used to run your brain. “Mind Boggling” how many thoughts truly run through our minds in a given day… nearly 50,000 individual thoughts. Among those thoughts, many of which are truly fruitless, ought to be thinking that impacts our spiritual life at profound levels… thinking that is “critical” to the survival of our souls.

What we think about God is the most important thing we could ponder. His greatness is beyond our comprehension… David said “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. (Psalm 145:3)” Yet even though God’s ways are unsearchable, He is not hidden from us.

The mystery of godliness has been revealed to humanity. It is critical that we come to the point of settling our mind on living for Him. “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: (Proverbs 23:7a)”

It’s time for some thinking that is critical. Time for a made up mind.
